Singles Ministry

Bringing Strength to all the Disciples

Is a brand new conference just for young adults. Ages 18- 23- exploring and experiencing life, out in the world, on their own for the first time!. In Acts. St. Paul is traveling the globe with the purpose of “Bringing strength to all the disciples”. Come by yourself, with your parish or your friends. this is a separately conference from the youth.

When? July 27- 29 , 2012 Cost: On Campus stay $190 or off stay campus $125.

Dedication

Adoration

Beginning the month of May, we will be making some changes to how we have adoration on the first Friday of the month here at St. Francis. As of May, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the first Friday of the month following the 8:00 am morning mass and will remain exposed all day until 11:00 pm, at which time it will be reposed. We will continue to pray the Liturgy of the Hours the following day, Saturday morning at 7:30 am in English. The reasoning for this change is due to some safety concerns that have arisen in the last few months.

A Note From Fr. Efrain

Several months ago, Fr. Pedro Rivera (previous associate pastor here at St. Francis) was appointed Assistant Vocation Director and since then has been appointed full time Vocation Director for the Diocese of San Diego as of July 1st. As a result of all of this, Bishop Brom met with me a little before Easter and informed me that he was appointing me Pastor of St. Jude Shrine of the West, San Diego effective July 1st. This appointment was made to the parish community of St. Jude’s this past weekend. As of today, the new associate pastor for St. Francis has not been named, but I am sure that whomever it is you will welcome him as you did me.

I have only be at St. Francis for about a year and it has truly been a pleasure to work with you and serve with people of God here in this community. I am very grateful for the support and help which I have received from you during my time here, especially that of Fr. Bud. I will take with me many fond memories of our awesome community here at St. Francis. I look forward to working with you until I leave as we continue to build up the Mystical Body of Christ. Assuring you of my prayers and asking you for yours.
