There are a number of opportunities for our parishioners to discern involvement with, in relation to many Masses and liturgies here at St. Francis Church
Liturgical Ministries
Extraordinary MInister of Communion Ministry
Eucharistic Ministers
The Eucharist constitutes the very life of the Church, for the Lord said, ‘I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me shall ever be hungry; no one who believes in me shall ever thirst.” John 6:35
Your willingness to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist reflects not only a response to your Baptismal call to serve the people of God, but a commitment to Christ as you share in the preaching, teaching, and leading aspects of the church. You offer the Eucharist, recognize the Body of Christ in those to whom you offer Eucharist and ultimately you act as the Body of Christ by fully participating in the life of the parish and the wider community. Your willingness to commit to a monthly schedule, to prepare properly for your service, and to arrive on time dressed appropriately for your assigned Mass, further reflects that commitment.
Eucharist Ministers also minister to those who cannot attend mass with home visits, hospital, and convalescent home visits.

Sacristan Mistry
The Sacristan, always under the general direction of the clergy, undertakes the overall preparation of liturgical celebrations. The Sacristan thus arranges the books needed for the celebration; also sets out anything that is needed for the celebration, such as cruets, chalices, ciboria, linens, oils, processional crosses, hand towels, incense and coals, and candles; assures that there is a ready supply of fresh hosts and of duly authorized wine and that the Sanctuary Light is on.The Sacristan should ensure the observance of silence in the sacristy. The Sacristan in harmony with the pastor also makes sure that the vestments, church furnishings, liturgical vessels, and decorative objects are kept in good condition. In order to carry out these duties, the sacristan needs to have a fairly good idea of the content and norms of the principal liturgical books and an understanding of the intricacies of the liturgical calendar.A good sacristan is a boon to any parish.Would you like to serve in this ministry? HOSPITALITY Ministry
Each human being has an incalculable value for the Lord. According to Him, we are the most important of all His creations. Do we value each person like God values him /her?That is the essence of the Ministry of Hospitality; to value each and every person like God does and to do all that is within our reach to help each person realize how important and precious he/she is to the eyes of our Lord. In this way, a minister of hospitality is an ambassador of Christ. One of the many virtues that our Lord Jesus Christ showed us while he walked amongst us, was his desire to serve instead of being served. The Ministry of Hospitality works in this same way. This ministry is only for those individuals that have the same spirit of service that Jesus had.If you would like to learn how you can be part of this ministry please contact Liturgy Office, 760-945-8000
